Ellen Pompeo is teaming up with Boston Legal creator David E. Kelley for a brand new drama at Hulu, called Not a Sound.

The 56-year-old Grey’s Anatomy actor will play a medical professional once again, this time as ER nurse Amelia Winn.

What is Not a Sound about?

Not a Sound is based on Heather Gudenkauf’s novel of the same name, per Deadline.

Here’s a synopsis of the show: “After losing her hearing in a devastating hit-and-run, disgraced ER nurse Amelia Winn (Pompeo) and her fiercely loyal service dog discover the murdered body of a former colleague — pulling Amelia into a deadly mystery that could finally reveal the truth about the accident that changed her life.”

Here’s a synopsis of the original book, published in 2017: “When a tragic accident leaves nurse Amelia Winn deaf, she loses everything that matters—her job, her husband, David, and her stepdaughter, Nora. At the same time, Ellen is also set to appear in Hulu‘s Chicks, a family dramedy, which she will also executive produce.

“Chicks is set in the rapidly gentrifying neighborhoods of old Boston. It follows Chickie (Pompeo) and Doreen, two estranged half-sisters who are both struggling to get by when their wise guy dad unexpectedly kicks the bucket. Their only inheritance is a legacy of two-bit crime that inspires them to run increasingly audacious frauds. As their con grows, so does their odd-couple bond, as they each start to fill the father-shaped hole in the other’s heart.”
