Kelsea Ballerini Defends Stella Lefty Against Criticism for Her Grand Ole Opry Debut | Just Jared

Stella Lefty wasn’t exactly welcomed to the Grand Ole Opry with open arms from everyone out there and now Kelsea Ballerini is speaking out to defend her.

The newcomer made her Opry debut this week and the iconic venue shared a video of her singing “Boston” with two St. Jude kids while backstage.

The adorable moment was so heartwarming, but the post features comments accusing Stella of having a “stolen song” and using her “billionaire daddy” to get into the Opry.

Kelsea was not happy to see the negative comments and decided to leave her own thoughts on the post.

“opry member chiming in!! yes, the opry is about honoring the legacies and the people that have inspired both me and her,” Kelsea began. “but, from different backgrounds and hometowns and generations, we can find ways to say and sing things that resonate with people that fill the seats…and that is always the goal right?”

“this backstage moment is beautiful. and y’all in the comments continue to not honor the people the actual opry house opens its arms to. it’s about celebration of all kinds of country music…new, old, traditional, current, however you wanna say it. it’s all important, and it should all be able to be shared in our safest and most sacred stage in country music. celebrate music like the opry does,” Kelsea added.
