Nicolas Cage's 'Spider-Noir' Canceled by Prime Video After One Season | Just Jared

Spider-Noir will not be coming back for a second season.
On Friday (September 4), Variety announced that the Prime Video/MGM+ series, starring Nicolas Cage, has been canceled after one season.
News of the cancellation comes as Spider-Noir heads into the first weekend of the 2026 Emmy ceremonies with 11 nominations, the most of any Prime Video program this year. The series held a solid 92% on Rotten Tomatoes with a 80% “popcornmeter” vote among fans.
The live-action series, which premiered in May, based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir tells the story of Ben Reilly (Cage), a seasoned, down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life, following a deeply personal tragedy, as the city’s one and only superhero.
The series marked Nic‘s first-ever regular TV role. The cast also included Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Abraham Popoola, Karen Rodriguez, Jack Huston and Brendan Gleeson.
As of right now, Prime Video hasn’t given an explanation as to why Spider-Noir has been canceled.
Spider-Noir was the first Marvel-related series to premiere out of Amazon’s deal with Sony Pictures TV to develop characters and stories from the “Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters.” The second series to come out of the partnership is already in develop and is expected to be announced soon.
