A spokesperson for Tony Romo is speaking out after his arrest last month.
If you didn’t see the news, the 46-year-old retired NFL quarterback was arrested on July 23 on suspicion of operating while intoxicated (OWI) in Milwaukee, Wis.
Days after his arrest, CBS Sports announced that the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback will be away from his role as an analyst “until further notice.”
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Tony is facing three new citations in the case – first-offense operating while intoxicated, unsafe passing on the right side, and possessing open intoxicants in his vehicle, according to USA Today.
In the wake of the new citations, a spokesperson for Tony is teasing his possible return to CBS Sports.
“Tony accepts full responsibility for his actions and has taken proactive steps to ensure that this isolated civil matter is properly resolved,” the spokesperson told TMZ. “We are working with local authorities to bring this matter to a close and we are communicating with CBS about next steps.”
The 2026 NFL regular season officially begins on Wednesday, September 9.
After playing with the Dallas Cowboys for 13 seasons, Tony retired in 2016. He then joined CBS as an analyst in April 2017.
