Pete Davidson is marking the 25th anniversary of his dad’s death.

If you didn’t know, the 32-year-old comedian and actor’s father Scott Davidson was a New York City firefighter, who tragically died on September 11, 2001 in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Pete was only 7-years-old at the time.

Ahead of the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and his dad’s death, Pete admitted that this year is “way harder” now that he’s a dad.

“I thought, ‘Oh, he was an old guy. He’s 33,’” Pete told the New York Post on Tuesday, September 8. “But now I’m there, and I have a kid, and that would be like my kid not having her dad.”

Pete and ex Elsie Hewitt welcomed daughter Scottie, named after the SNL alum’s late father, in December 2025.

“This year is extra tough, but also extra beautiful because I get to spend the day with Scottie,” Pete added. “It’ll be very healing and special.”

He went on to say it felt right to name his daughter after his late dad, noting that Elsie, 30, was in complete agreement.

“It was really cool that Elsie also wanted to name her Scottie,” he told the Post. “My dad’s name was Scott, but his nickname was Scotty. When she arrived, we both looked at her and were like, ‘She looks like a Scottie.’ It’s nice to keep that name alive.”

For the past few years, Pete has been undergoing painful procedures to get his 200+ tattoos removed. However, he previously revealed that he will be keeping a tattoo he has dedicated to his dad.
