Kim Cattrall Remembers ‘Ice Princess’ Co-Star Hayden Panettiere in Touching Tribute

Kim Cattrall is speaking out following the death of her former co-star Hayden Panettiere.
If you did not hear the tragic news, the Heroes star passed away on Sunday (August 16) at a residence in South Carolina. She died just five days shy of her 37th birthday.
The following day, Kim, 69, took to Instagram to share a sweet tribute to Hayden, whom she starred alongside in the 2005 Disney movie Ice Princess.
“Rest in peace sweet Hayden. Gone far too soon,” Kim wrote along with the broken heart emoji. She also shared a photo of herself in Hayden in the movie.

In Ice Princess, Hayden played Gen Harwood while Kim played her mom, Tina. The movie was led by the late Michelle Trachtenberg, who sadly passed in February 2025 at the age of 39.
Here’s the synopsis: Casey Carlyle (Trachtenberg) is supposed to go to Harvard, just like her mother (Joan Cusack). While Casey has the grades to get into her mom’s alma mater, what she really wants to do is pursue her passion: figure skating. Both Casey’s mom and Gen (Panettiere), the captain of the local team, scoff at the idea of Casey on the ice. But Casey soon finds an unlikely ally, and coach, in Gen’s mom, Tina (Kim Cattrall), a former skater trying to live down mistakes from her past.
You can stream Ice Princess on Disney+ now.
Read the update from the coroner, who completed the autopsy today.
Our continued thoughts go out to Hayden Panettiere‘s loved ones during this very difficult time. RIP.
