Ricki Lake Shares Rare Comments About Ex-Husband Christian Evans Nearly 10 Years After He Died by Suicide | Just Jared

Ricki Lake is looking back at her late-ex-husband Christian Evans‘ death.
The 58-year-old actress first started dating the jewelry designer in 2009 and they married in 2012. Two years later, she filed for divorce. Christian, who suffered from bipolar disorder, committed suicide in 2017.
On Wednesday night (September 30), Ricki appeared on Watch What Happens Live alongside Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby, whose son Robert Jr. died by suicide earlier this year. He was 23.
The season 7 premiere of RHOSLC followed the weeks shortly after Robert Jr‘s death.
“I also am someone who is very accustomed to loss. I lost my husband almost ten years ago,” Ricki told Mary, 53. “And having to rise in the public and go through this, it’s really a testament to you and your strength.”
The Hairspray actress went on to praise Mary for handling her son’s tragic passing “with such grace.”
She also told Mary that she’s “helping” and “really doing a service” for other people dealing with loss.
“It’s an honor to be here with you tonight,” Ricki added.
