The cast of New Girl will reunite for the inaugural Rising Phoenix Award at the 2026 Chrysalis Butterfly Ball.

Max Greenfield is returning to host the ball this October in Los Angeles and it was announced on Tuesday (August 4) that the cast, including Zooey Deschanel, Max, Jake Johnson, Lamorne Morris, Hannah Simone and Damon Wayans Jr., is set to receive the Rising Phoenix Award on Saturday, October 10, at The Beehive in Los Angeles.

Chrysalis is a Southern California nonprofit that seeks to aid people in finding “meaningful work and build futures they can be regardless of their past or present.”

New Girl reunion chatter has recently picked up

There has been a revival in New Girl reunion chatter lately when Max, who played Schmidt on the show, told Today with Jenna & Sheinelle that he has seen scripts and as far as he knows, “it’s happening.”

Creator Liz Meriweather trolled Max in an Instagram video where she joked that Max had seen the scripts along with the rest of the cast and they all started giving her notes “on every little thing.

“Jake [Johnson] wants Nick to be, like, really thin — and wants to kind of be naked a lot, showing off his body. He asked to have a dance number with him, fully nude, dancing to ‘Levitating,’ by Dua Lipa,” she teased.

Liz also quipped that Lamorne wants Winston to have a “very long chain, like a chain all the way down to his knees.”

Unfortunately for fans eagerly waiting for confirmation of a reboot, that’s not exactly what’s happening at the award show, but it’s still an exciting opportunity for the cast! It also marks a reunion 15 years since New Girl premiered on Fox.
