Is There a NASCAR Race Today, September 20? Next Cup Series Race Date & TV Schedule

NASCAR fans looking to watch a race today will have to wait another week.

There is no NASCAR Cup Series race scheduled for Sunday (September 20) after drivers competed in the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday night (September 19).

There’s no Sunday race because this weekend’s Cup Series event was scheduled for Saturday night, rather than because of a cancellation or weather delay. NASCAR’s official 2026 schedule confirms the next Cup race won’t take place until next weekend.

When Is the Next NASCAR Cup Series Race?

The NASCAR Cup Series will return on Sunday, September 27 for the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan.

The race is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. ET and will air on USA Network. NASCAR lists HBO Max, MRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio among the additional ways to follow the race.

Practice for the Cup Series race will take place one day earlier on Saturday (September 26) at 10 a.m. ET, followed by qualifying at 11:10 a.m. ET. Both will air on truTV and stream on HBO Max.

What Happened in Saturday Night’s NASCAR Race?

Joey Logano won Saturday night’s Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol after taking the lead late in the 500-lap race.

The victory marked Joey‘s third win of the 2026 season and the 40th Cup Series victory of his career. Kyle Larson finished second, while Carson Hocevar came in third.

The race also made headlines after Ryan Blaney and Carson got into a physical confrontation on pit road following an incident late in the race.

Brad Pitt served as the Grand Marshal at Saturday night’s NASCAR race, with girlfriend Ines de Ramon joining him at Bristol.
