The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards show is supposed to be airing right now on CBS and MTV, but the show is starting late.
The event was scheduled to begin at 7:30pm ET on Sunday (September 27), with the show happening live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
The awards show is airing directly after the Dallas Cowboys vs Baltimore Ravens football game, which has been airing for the past few hours on CBS. The game was supposed to be over by now, but it’s still going!
CBS is not going to cut the game off, so the VMAs will have to wait.
While CBS is still airing the game, MTV is filling the delay by giving a behind-the-scenes look at the history of the Video Vanguard Award. Nirvana will be receiving the special award this year.
