Who Played Eugene on 'Happy Days'? Henry Winkler Calls Actor an 'Assback' | Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Henry Winkler is reflecting on his time on Happy Days and one actor he says let the fame get to his head.
The 76-year-old actor who played Arthur “Fonzie” Fonzarelli talked about cast egos and how they all approached their fame during an appearance at Fanboy Expo Knoxville in July.
“The truth of the matter is really on our set, there was no stardom,” Henry said, per Entertainment Weekly. “We were an ensemble. We worked hard at making it funny every week.”
However, he did say there was “one guy” who was on the show as a guest star and he came back a few times throughout the sitcom’s run.
“And he would mention his fan mail. And I said, ‘You don’t wanna talk to me about fan mail. I got 50,000 letters a week,’” Henry recalled. “And I said, ‘We don’t talk about that on the set. We are all here as one.’”
“And he kept doing it, and he was an assback,” the Barry star added.
While Henry wouldn’t name the actor, he did say: “He played Eugene.”
Actor Denis Mandel played the character Eugene Belvin in a recurring capacity on Happy Days during its eighth and ninth seasons.
Earlier this year, Henry reflected on doing the first nude scene of his career at age 76 for Loot season 3!
