Hudson Williams is talking Heated Rivalry season 2!

Earlier this week, the 25-year-old actor appeared on stage for a conversation at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival. During the chat, Hudson said it was “surreal” for him and Connor Storrie to return to set of the hit queer hockey drama.

Hudson admitted that both he and the 26-year-old Emmy-nominated actor had some concerns before they started filming again, pointing out at it was the first time he’d ever return to a character now on a much larger scale.

“’We’re going to be kissing each other, brother. I’m going to be doing my f***ing Russian accent to you,'” Hudson recalled mimicking Connor, per Deadline.

Connor ended up working the first day, without Hudson, and was worried about his performance.

“He was like, ‘It was sort of weird. They were all so good that I was like, am I good? Am I in it? Am I doing the thing? Am I doing an impression of Ilya?’” Hudson recalled Connor saying to him.

Hudson said he was extremely confident that wouldn’t happen to him, but things changed once he stepped on set.

“Then I showed up. I was doing the scene and there was some extras, who were clearly fans, and they’re just so perky,” he recounted. “I was like, ‘Oh God. Oh God, am I doing a Shane impression?’”

Luckily, the two soon slipped right back into their characters with the help from showrunner Jacob Tierney.

“And the after our first day ones, it came back, thankfully,” Hudson said. “Because Jacob does a really good job of making the set feel as tiny as it was in Season 1. It’s all the same crew, which is really great. But it was surreal to step into it.”
