Simon Cowell Isn’t Returning for 'AGT' Season 21 Finale, KSI Will Replace Him

Simon Cowell will not be returning to America’s Got Talent in time for the Season 21 finale.

The 66-year-old longtime judge and creator of the NBC competition series has been absent from the live shows while recovering from a procedure related to his back.

While Simon was previously expected to return for the finale, it has now been confirmed that he will miss both nights, airing Tuesday (September 22) and Wednesday (September 23).

Who Is Replacing Simon Cowell on the ‘AGT’ Finale?

NBC announced that KSI will fill Simon‘s seat at the judges’ table for the two-night finale.

The 33-year-old YouTuber, musician and boxer will join Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara and Mel B for the final performances and results show.

KSI has experience with the franchise, having served as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent.

Simon temporarily stepped away from the show in August to undergo a procedure related to ongoing back issues.

Earlier this month, Howie shared a positive update after the surgery, saying that he had heard it was a success and that “everything’s okay.”

At the time, Howie said he was hoping Simon would be able to return before the Season 21 winner was crowned.

During Simon‘s absence, several stars have stepped in as guest judges, including Kenan Thompson and former AGT judge Heidi Klum.

The America’s Got Talent Season 21 performance finale airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, followed by the results show Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.
