There’s more The Love Hypothesis on the way!

Author Ali Hazelwood just announced that she wrote a sequel to her bestselling romance novel, titled The Two-Body Problem.

The new book will once again follow Olive Smith and Adam Carlsen, and it arrives on February 2, 2027.

A movie adaptation is also already in development!

What Is The Two-Body Problem About?

Ali revealed that the sequel spans “a couple of years” in Olive and Adam’s relationship.

She described the book as a mix of slice-of-life moments, postdoctoral turmoil and the realities of being in a long-term relationship.

The author admitted that writing a sequel wasn’t originally part of the plan.

“I wrote a sequel to The Love Hypothesis” is “not a sentence I thought I’d say a year or so ago,” she told fans while announcing the project.

Ali added that working on the recent movie adaptation made her fall for Adam and Olive “all over again” and inspired her to revisit the characters.

Is The Two-Body Problem Getting a Movie?

It might be!

Ali confirmed that MRC is developing a movie adaptation of The Two-Body Problem for Amazon MGM Studios.

However, she cautioned fans that “nothing is guaranteed” at this stage.

MRC also produced the movie adaptation of The Love Hypothesis, which is now streaming on Prime Video.

Will Lili Reinhart & Tom Bateman Return?

Amazon MGM Studios has not announced casting for the potential sequel movie yet.

Lili Reinhart stars as Olive in The Love Hypothesis, while Tom Bateman plays Adam. The movie premiered on Prime Video on September 23.

Ali specifically credited the movie and its cast with making her want to return to the characters, but she did not say whether Lili and Tom are attached to the potential follow-up film.

When Does The Two-Body Problem Come Out?

The Two-Body Problem will be released on February 2, 2027.

Ali also unveiled the book’s cover, illustrated by Lilith Saur, while announcing the sequel.
