Ed Sheeran‘s show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles this weekend was a “full circle moment” for him.
The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, 35, is currently traveling around the world on his Loop Tour and he’s truly showing off his talents on this tour, using music looping technology to perform solo throughout the show and make it sound like he has a full band accompanying him.
Ed is performing his greatest hits like “The A Team,” “Thinking Out Loud,” “Perfect,” “Castle on the Hill,” and “Shape of You,” along with songs from his latest album Play, including “Azizam,” “Old Phone,” “Camera,” and more. He was joined on stage by the Irish band Beoga for several numbers, including the songs they previously collaborated on like “Galway Girl” and “Nancy Mulligan.”

At the beginning of the show on Saturday (August 8), Ed opened up about why the L.A. stop on his tour was such a special night for him.
Ed revealed that his first-ever show in the U.S. took place 16 years earlier at the Savoy Entertainment Center in Inglewood, the same L.A. neighborhood where SoFi Stadium is located. The two venues are just a 5-minute drive from each other.
While introducing his song “The A-Team,” Ed told the crowd, “I played this song that night in Inglewood at the Savoy. This song has been with me for the last 16 years of my career. I’ve played this song at every single gig since then. This song became a slow burn hit throughout the world. I thought this song would be my only hit. I was happy if it was my only hit, because I love this song. But 16 years later, people are still filling up venues of this size to sing this song with me and I love that tonight is in Inglewood. My first show in America was in Inglewood. It feels like a nice full circle moment.”
Ed will be touring across North America through the beginning of November, so you still have plenty of chances to catch him on the Loop Tour. Upcoming cities include Toronto, Detroit, East Rutherford, Philadelphia, and more. The tour will wrap in December after a run through Latin America.
