What happened to Kara Chamberlain?
From the Cold Case Foundation: “In 2002, when Kara was 15 years old, she was kidnapped by a man she would later find out was a serial killer. By her own determination, she was able to escape her captor and lead law-enforcement to his apartment. After several days on the run her captor was found and committed suicide. Shortly after his death he was positively identified as being responsible for the murders of three girls several years earlier. Kara went on to work in law-enforcement until the birth of her first son. She worked as a school resource officer, investigator, and victims advocate. Through Kara‘s experiences both as a survivor and a law-enforcement officer she can provide unique insight into the experience of surviving a crime and other traumatic events. Kara is now happily married and a mother to two young boys. She does speaking engagements to groups around the country with the hope to spread education, awareness, and inspiration.”
