Deli Boys will not be moving forward.
On Friday (August 14), Deadline announced that the crime dramedy starring Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh, and Poorna Jagannathan has been canceled by Hulu after two seasons.
A source told the outlet that the show’s cancellation was due to ratings.
Created by Abdullah Saeed, Deli Boys followed “Mir and Raj Dar (Ali and Shaikh), a pair of pampered Pakistani American brothers who lose everything and are forced to reckon with their Baba’s (Iqbal Theba) secret life of crime as they attempt to take up his mantle in the underworld. Jagannathan starred as Naveeda ‘Lucky,’ Baba’s confidant and a crime boss auntie.”
Fred Armisen joined the cast for season two, playing “a legendary gambling savant with an uncanny ability to read people like cards. His casino empire is global, but his crown jewel is in Philly. He is uniquely brilliant and deeply unhinged — a deadly combo if you cross him.”
When Deli Boys first premiered in March 2025, it gained critical claim, with a 96% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes, and an 84% audience score.
Saagar and Poorna received acting nominations at the 2025 Gotham TV Awards for their work in the show.
