Connie Britton Remembers ‘Nashville’ Co-Star Hayden Panettiere After Her Sudden Passing: ‘I Love You Girl’

Connie Britton has shared a post about the death of Hayden Panettiere.
If you don’t know, the 59-year-old actress co-starred with Hayden on Nashville. The pair played rivals on the series.
If you did not hear the tragic news, the Heroes star passed away on Sunday (August 16) at a residence in South Carolina. She was five days shy of her 37th birthday.

Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere were often the subject of “feud” rumors that mirrored their characters‘ relationship on Nashville
Hayden spoke to those rumors last year.
“I remember the first scene that I ever did with her,” Hayden recalled to Entertainment Weekly in 2025. “It was in [Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium], the backstage of the Ryman, and Rayna [Connie‘s character] comes in and says something nice to me, and I am just so passive aggressive to her.”
Hayden said she kept apologizing to the Friday Night Lights alum after the scene.
“That was our first experience together and I didn’t want to step on toes,” she explained. “Sometimes it gets real, very real, you know?”
“It was difficult to play that sometimes, that competitiveness, where we were in opposition and against each other,” Hayden noted. “And it’s not what we thought it was going to be, so it was very difficult to step in.”
Despite the rivalry between their characters, Hayden said that she felt that Connie was “amazing” and “so supportive” during their time working together.
