'Hadestown' Live Capture Movie Breaks Box Office Record & Extends Theatrical Run Indefinitely | Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

The live capture movie of Hadestown: The Musical has broken a box office record!

The Tony-winning musical was filmed in London with five of the original cast members to reprise their roles: Reeve Carney as Orpheus, Eva Noblezada as Eurydice, Patrick Page as Hades, Amber Gray as Persephone, and Andre de Shields as Hermes.

The movie grossed $10.2 million for its opening weekend, earning the biggest opening weekend at the box office for a live capture of a Broadway musical. The previous record was held by Hamilton, which was released in theaters for the first time back in 2025, over five years after it debuted on Disney+.

Hadestown‘s theatrical release was intended to be a five-day limited event, but the demand for tickets has led to an indefinite theatrical run.
