Taylor Hanson is getting ready to make his ballroom debut!

The 43-year-old “MMMBop” singer will be competing on season 35 of Dancing with the Stars which premieres TONIGHT (Tuesday, September 15) on ABC and Disney+. He’s been partnered up with pro dancer Britt Stewart.

Taylor has been married for over 24 years

Taylor first met his wife Natalie backstage at one of his Hanson concerts in 2000. Natalie and Kate – who is Zac Hanson‘s wife – were working as models when fellow brother Isaac Hanson, the third member of the group, encouraged the women to meet his brothers.

“Isaac technically met both of our wives first,” Taylor said on an episode of the White Wine Question Time podcast in2022.

Taylor and Natalie married on June 8, 2002 in Pine Mountain, Georgia. The duo were 19 and 18 years old at the time, respectively.

They share seven children

The pair became parents in 2002 after welcoming their first child, son Ezra. Six more kids followed: sons River, Viggo, and Indiana along with daughters Penelope, Wilhelmina, and Maybellene.

“What I think really happens is that you have a sense that you’re part of a crew when you’re in a big family,” Taylor told Today’s Parent of fatherhood in November 2017. “It gives you the sense that you have an identity that’s connected to something bigger.”

Natalie homeschools their kids

Natalie homeschools all seven of her and Taylor‘s kids, and she opened up about that decision in a 2018 article for TulsaKids Magazine.

“For me, homeschool came into the picture when I needed to advocate for and assist my children in a way no one else quite could,” she wrote, explaining that their daughter, Penelope, was diagnosed with dyslexia.

“I really felt something deeper was going on, and some of it had to do with me,” Natalie added. “I had a big family, a husband with a weird job, and I came to the frightening conclusion that if I was going to succeed with my family the way I hoped, I was going to have to think outside the box.”

They live in Oklahoma

Taylor, Natalie and their kids live his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma where they are very involved with their community

In 2014, Taylor founded the local nonprofit Food On The Move, a food distribution initiative that delivers food and resources to areas without access to fresh produce.

“I felt there was another way I needed to engage in my own life — a greater effort beyond music,” he explained to TulsaKids Magazine in March 2023. “Food On The Move has been an unbelievable journey for me. I felt the call to do what we’re trying to do was very much about being a person in the universe and trying to do the most I can with what I’ve been given.”
