Tyler Duckworth Dead at 44 – ‘The Challenge’ Winner Was Found ‘Unresponsive in His Bathroom’

Tyler Duckworth has passed away at the age of 44.

The reality star, who won two seasons of MTV’s The Challenge, died on Tuesday (August 11) just before noon in North Dakota. The Sun reports that he was found “unresponsive in his bathroom.”

There were no witnesses and the death has been classified as “unattended.” A cause of death has not yet been determined, according to Tyler‘s mom.

People reports that Tyler‘s mother Joni posted about his passing on Facebook.

“My son, Tyler, passed away earlier this week,” she wrote. “Cause of death has yet to be determined. I will post on Facebook about services as soon as his dad and I figure it out.”

It has been reported by The Sun that Tyler recently had a surgery, but it’s unclear if there’s a connection to his death.

The Challenge stars speak out as well

Tyler‘s death comes just days after he appeared alongside former co-stars at an event in Minneapolis. His final Instagram post was thanking people for attending the event.

“So proud to represent my hometown of Minneapolis along with these other challenge legends. The fans are what keep us coming out! Hearing your stories of courage, inspiration & joy that you’ve got being a fan of the franchise is humbling each and every time,” he wrote on Instagram.

The hosts of Challenge Mania spoke out on Tyler‘s death.

Scott Yager told People:

We are incredibly blessed to have spent some time with him just a few days ago in Minneapolis at Challenge Mania on July 31. His appearance was a welcomed surprise to the crowd and cast alike that he and I coordinated just a few days prior.

Like he did every day, he put a smile on everyone’s face and lit up the room with his infectious energy and incredible stories. We loved him very much and he will be greatly missed by the whole Challenge fandom and community around the world. He was truly one of a kind.

Derrick Kosinski told People:

We shared a room on All Stars 2 and he was an amazing human being. His passing is so sad. He was always such a bright light and incredible joy to be around. He also kicked my ass in elimination on the original Cutthroat. And that was after he eliminated Johnny Bananas in the famous Bananas backpack elimination, ‘Back Up Off Me.’ He went toe to toe with CT for 40 minutes! He doesn’t get his flowers often enough for that. And he won that season. And then won again with Johnny on Rivals.
