‘Toast to Italy’ Cast, Filming Locations & How to Watch on Hallmark+

Hallmark is bringing viewers on a romantic trip to Italy to start the month of August off right.

Toast to Italy premiered on Saturday (August 1) and stars Torrey DeVitto and Will Kemp as two travelers whose competing missions bring them together. The movie offers plenty of gorgeous Italian scenery, and several of its pivotal sequences were even filmed in real historic locations.

What is Toast to Italy about?

Torrey plays Jenny, an American doctor with Italian roots who travels overseas shortly before her sister’s wedding. She runs into Will‘s character, Arrigo, who is also looking for the same bottle.

Jenny travels to Italy for a special bottle of wine for her sister’s wedding. She meets Arrigo, also looking for the famous “Love Wine” and together their search leads to a love of their own. 

Where was Toast to Italy filmed?

Confirmed location filming took place in Orvieto, a historic city in Italy’s Umbria region. According to an official notice from the Municipality of Orvieto, the international production filmed in the city this past May.

The Duomo di Orvieto and the Fortezza Albornoz were among the prominent landmarks used in the movie. Production also took over plazas, streets, and narrow passageways throughout Orvieto’s historic center and neighborhood.

The municipality identified Via del Duomo, Via Garbaldi, Via Cipriano Manente, Piazza San Giovanni, and Via Pianzola among the specific areas affected by filming. Officials said Orvieto served an important narrative purpose and hosted several significant scenes rather than just providing general establishing shots.

How can you watch Toast to Italy?

Toast to Italy premiered on Hallmark Channel on August 1 and begins streaming on Hallmark+ on Sunday, August 2.

Hallmark has also scheduled television encore presentations for August 2 at 6:00 pm ET, August 5 at 8:00 pm ET, and August 15 at 10:00 pm ET.
