On Monday afternoon, Senator Camila Flores publicly reacted to the leak of private photographs circulating on social media and other digital platforms. The images show the senator with her new partner inside her home , prompting an immediate response from the legislator.
Through her statements, Flores pointed directly to her ex-husband, Percy Marín, as the alleged person responsible for the leak , claiming that he had acted in conjunction with other people whose identity she did not specify.
“I hope they investigate with the same rigor with which I have been investigated. It’s incredible what spite and a lack of understanding can achieve ,” the senator stated, referring to the incident and the consequences of the images’ release.
The congresswoman also maintained that the end of a relationship does not justify actions intended to harm or affect the other person’s life , defending each individual’s right to rebuild their personal life after a separation.
“When a relationship simply ends, it doesn’t mean destroying the other person’s life. A person, whether man or woman, is not anyone’s property and has every right to rebuild their life,” she stated.
Flores also recalled the background of her breakup with Marín and pointed out that she had not been in a relationship with him for months , indicating that on December 15 he had to leave the home they shared after a legal action related to a complaint of domestic violence filed by her.
Finally, the senator questioned her ex-partner’s attitude toward the end of the relationship. “What more has to happen for a man to understand that a woman simply doesn’t want to be with him?” she asked, insisting that the matter should be investigated by the appropriate authorities.
