‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Star Dakota Mortensen Dating Shinia Powell Amid Ongoing Custody Drama with Ex Taylor Frankie Paul (Report)

Dakota Mortensen is moving on with a new woman amid his custody battle.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star is reportedly dating Shinia Powell, who appeared on the show in season four, according to People.

Rumors have been swirling about the pair for months, and sources are now confirming that they are together.

Shinia is good friends with Secret Lives star Miranda Hope, who joined the cast in season two, and the former came onto the show last season as a friend of the MomTok group.

In season four, Dakota also admitted to ex Taylor Frankie Paul that he had hooked up with Shinia.

“I’m sorry for hooking up with Shinia. Was it dumb of me? Yes. Could I have picked someone else? Yes. Who it was matters, and that’s where I think I went wrong,” Dakota told Taylor over FaceTime after she landed in LA to film The Bachelorette. “I picked somebody that was obviously going to come with problems, and that was very sh-tty of me to do… And it put you in a s—ty spot, and I know that hurt you really bad.”

Per People, a source says Shinia “has been a steady source of support” for Dakota amid his custody battle with Taylor, and their friendship grew into something more.

“They are enjoying their time together while thoughtfully navigating what that means for them and their children,” the source said, adding they understand their relationship will come with a lot attention.

“They respectfully ask that people remain mindful of their privacy and feelings as they work as a team to move forward in a healthy way within an already tumultuous environment,” they shared.

Just this week, Shinia shared a new Instagram photo dump with one photo featuring a man, seemingly Dakota, though you can’t see his face.

Earlier this year, Dakota was granted temporary custody of his and Taylor‘s son Ever, and they were ordered to stay 100 feet away from each other.

Over the weekend, Dakota and Taylor‘s ex-husband shared a joint statement after DCFS raised concerns about her parenting.
