Riley Green is known for wearing a baseball cap or a cowboy hat in nearly all of his public appearances, so you might be surprised to see him without one on The Voice.
The 37-year-old country singer has opened up about why he’s not always wearing his hat on the NBC show.
Riley told Ohio’s K99.1 FM radio station, “Carson Daly was like, we’re sitting over there and he said, ‘What are you going to do with your hat? Are you going to wear it during the show?’ I said, ‘Well, I can’t because the chair, the back of it, you can’t wear a cowboy hat with a tall chair like that.’”
Fortunately, they came up with a solution so that his hat is still around.
“And I was like, ‘Man, it’d be cool to have a little holster for it.’ And he’s like, ‘Well, I’m one of the executive producers. I can probably get that done,'” Riley said. “Next thing I know, I got a little holster for my hat. So nobody else has that.”
“It’s right there on the side, I kinda sheath it when I sit down,” he added.
