Noah Kahan Slams Trump for Using His Song on Social Media: ‘Would Never Approve’

Noah Kahan is calling out Donald Trump.

The 29-year-old The Great Divide singer-songwriter slammed the 80-year-old President of the United States and his administration for using his song “American Cars” to soundtrack a recent Instagram post.

Trump visited General Motors in Michigan and shared a post from the trip, writing: “Made in America is BACK.. For decades, globalists sold out Michigan autoworkers, shipping jobs overseas and gutting Detroit’s factories. Every president before Trump promised to stop it. None did. Now Michigan has a President who fights for workers and puts America FIRST.”

Noah saw the post, and responded directly in the comments.

“Would never approve of my music being used in support of you or this administration,” he wrote.

Deputy assistant to the President and White House deputy communications director Kaelan Dorr then responded with a post on X: “Symptoms of TDS apparently include having a northern attitude,” he wrote, referring to the made-up term “Trump Derangement Syndrome” that the President keeps using, including one bizarre AI video of himself as a doctor.

Many other celebrities have also called out the President for using their music in posts on social media, including Katy Perry, who just said she was “deeply appalled and angry” after they used her song “Firework” in a military strike video.
