New 'Spider-Man' TV Series Based on Marvel's 'Clone Saga' Nears Green Light at Prime Video | Just Jared

A new Spider-Man television series could be coming to Prime Video.

Amazon is reportedly nearing a green light on a new live-action series inspired by Marvel Comics’ Clone Saga storyline, according to Deadline.

The project would center on Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker, two characters with major ties to Peter Parker in the comics.

Tracker creator Ben H. Winters is attached to serve as showrunner on the potential series.

What Is Marvel’s Clone Saga?

In the comics, Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker are both connected to a storyline involving clones of Peter Parker.

In the comics, Ben Reilly is a successful, stable Spider-Man clone whose name is a combination of the first name of Peter’s uncle Ben and the maiden name of his aunt May and who develops a superhero identity of his own, the Scarlet Spider. Kaine Parker is the flawed first clone of Spider-Man.

The potential series is reportedly inspired by the second Clone Saga storyline.

Additional plot and casting details have not yet been announced.

The project would be the latest live-action series to come out of Amazon’s deal with Sony Pictures Television to develop characters and stories from the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel characters.

Prime Video previously launched Spider-Noir, starring Nicolas Cage, earlier this year. That series also featured a version of Ben Reilly, though it was a separate interpretation of the character set in 1930s New York. It was canceled after one season.
