Matt Damon Gives 'Bourne' Update, Reveals If He'd Return for Another Movie - Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Matt Damon just gave an update if he’d play Jason Bourne again!

If you don’t know, Matt portrayed Jason Bourne in four films: The Bourne Identity in 2002, The Bourne Supremacy in 2004, The Bourne Ultimatum in 2007, and Jason Bourne in 2016.

While on ESPN’s The Rich Eisen Show, Rich Eisen asked Matt for an update on the character. As of 2023, a movie was in the works, but by 2025, it appears that nothing came of it.

“Sure,” he responded.

“There’s a great director named Ed Berger. He did All Quiet on the Western Front. He’s a wonderful director, and we’re talking about it. We’re just trying to figure [it out.] We’re trying to nail the story down because I’d love to do it. It’s just that thing where, if we do it, we want it to be like the first three,” Matt explained.

“It’s tough because it’s not built like a James Bond, where every movie is its own mission. People can even change the person playing Bond. It’s a linear story, so it makes it more challenging to do a sequel where you’re giving people what they want, but also enough new stuff. It’s a tricky one,” he added.
