Matt Brown‘s cause of death has been made public.

The Alaskan Bush People reality TV star’s autopsy results were released by the Okanogan County Coroner.

Matt‘s death at the age of 43 was deemed a suicide. He was under the influence of methamphetamine (meth) according to the report, and the official cause of death is a “single penetrating gunshot wound to the head,” per TMZ.

“Subsequent immersion in water (river)” contributed to his death as well, per the coroner’s office report.

His body will be released to the family for final arrangements.

His brother Bear Brown confirmed the news of his death at the end of May, sharing a video to TikTok asking for support and privacy for their family.

Alaskan Bush People is a Discovery series that follows the Brown family surviving in the remote wilderness, which premiered in 2014.

According to family sources to TMZ, Matt became estranged from the family about five years ago amid addiction struggles. He had appeared in 79 episodes of Alaskan Bush People from 2014 to 2019.
