Jack Lowden as James Bond? ‘Slow Horses’ Director Adam Randall Weighs In

Jack Lowden is getting another major endorsement to become the next James Bond!

The 36-year-old Slow Horses actor has been mentioned as a possible contender to take over the iconic role following Daniel Craig‘s departure from the franchise.

Now, Slow Horses director Adam Randall, who directed all six episodes of the show’s newly released sixth season, is sharing why he thinks Jack would be a great choice.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Adam was asked about recent comments from Gary Oldman, who has publicly expressed his support for Jack becoming the next James Bond.

“I don’t know anything beyond what everybody else knows. I think you’ve seen from six seasons that he’d be pretty perfect,” Adam said.

“I love James Bond, and I love all the iterations of James Bond. Obviously, Daniel Craig and Sean Connery have sort of the tougher [style], but I also grew up with Roger Moore and that kind of winking to the audience,” he continued.

Adam explained that Jack has the ability to balance both sides of the character.

“The thing that Jack can do so well is bring comedy and humor into the most serious moments. He can play it very straight, he’s an amazing drama actor, he can play action, but he can also always find the funny,” he said. “It’s that combination that would make him a very good pick.”

The director also addressed the similarities between Slow Horses and the James Bond franchise, while pointing out one major difference.

“James Bond is brilliant at everything. You know, if James Bond goes skiing or plays golf, he’s the best. Whereas our characters are more like us in that they’re not, and they’re making things up,” he explained.

It was recently reported that Gary Oldman believes the next Bond may have already been chosen, though no official casting announcement has been made.
