The coroner has released a statement on the death of Hayden Panettiere, confirming the autopsy has been performed and completed as of Monday (August 17).

If you did not hear the tragic news, the Heroes star passed away on Sunday (August 16) at a residence in South Carolina. She was five days shy of her birthday.

Hayden‘s fans are devastated by this sudden loss, and questions remain about her cause of death. Earlier today, we learned that it was a suspected overdose. Now, the autopsy has been completed and the coroner gave a bit more insight.

The coroner has released a statement on their autopsy and investigation into the death of Hayden Panettiere, confirming “no signs of trauma”

“First responders and Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene and located a female in cardiac arrest. EMS personnel initiated advanced cardiac life support measures; however, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and the individual was pronounced deceased at 2:32 PM,” the Greenville County Coroner’s Office said (via Page Six). “The Greenville County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and initiated a parallel investigation with the Greenville City Police Department.”

“The decedent has been identified as Hayden Leslie Panettiere, 36, of California. Panettiere was found unresponsive inside the residence, where she had been temporarily staying,” they continued.

“An autopsy was completed today. At autopsy no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death. The cause and manner of death remain pending further investigation and the completion of additional studies,” they shared. “This investigation remains active and ongoing. No further details are available for release at this time.”
