Gal Gadot is commenting on being let go by DC as Wonder Woman, as well as Henry Cavill‘s departure as Superman.

On the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, she said she was not surprised when they moved on from having her play Wonder Woman. Why? Because of the Henry Cavill situation that went down.

She shared, “I saw the way everybody else was handled. The Henry [Cavill] situation was not handled elegantly to say the least. Same with Patty [Jenkins]. It was not handled elegantly. We’re all adults and it’s all good. It’s not even about [James Gunn and Peter Safran]. They are there and they’re there to do what they believe in. It’s all good.”

Gal also said she was told they were going to develop Wonder Woman 3 with her, saying, “They told me, ‘We’re going to do develop it with you. The third [movie]…’”

What happened with Henry Cavill and the end of his run as Superman?

If you don’t know, Henry teased that he would be returning as Superman after his cameo in Black Adam. However, just two months later, under new leadership, he was told he was not going to be Superman anymore.

“I have just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran and it’s sad news, everyone,” he told fans in December 2022. “I will, after all, not be returning as Superman. After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, prior to their hire, this news isn’t the easiest, but that’s life.”

He went on, “The changing of the guard is something that happens. I respect that. James and Peter have a universe to build. I wish them and all involved with the new universe the best of luck, and the happiest of fortunes.”
