Dianna Russini Makes Rare On the Record Statement About Mike Vrabel Scandal, Which She Apparently Immediately Regretted - Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Dianna Russini has made a new statement about the Mike Vrabel scandal.

Dianna Russini left her job at the “The Athletic” after the Mike Vrabel scandal
If you haven’t been following, a big scandal broke earlier this Spring when they were seen in photos together at an Arizona resort, supposedly taken in 2026. They both denied any romantic involvement at the time. Dianna got married in 2020 and Mike has been married to his wife Jen since 1999.
Since then, photos of them appearing to kiss – from 2020 – emerged, and he admitted to having “difficult conversations” with his family.

The NYT released a new piece on her today, with a quote that she did not want included in the piece
Dianna was asked about the piece, and sent a text message comment.
“This has had a significant impact on my life, both professionally and personally,” she wrote of the scandal.
She then allegedly tried to make the comments off the record, but was told she did not say that initially.
Dianna apparently “objected” and emailed The Athletic publisher David Perpich and two other editors at the paper, but the quote was still included in the piece.
If you don’t know, a person usually cannot make a statement on the record and then retroactively declare it “off the record.” Journalists typically consider information on the record unless there is a clear understanding beforehand that certain comments will not be published. Any request to go off the record after the fact is generally up to the reporter to accept or decline, and obviously in the case, it went to print.
Dianna‘s salary at the publication was also just revealed – and it was massive.
