2026 Emmy Awards night is finally here!

The 78th Emmy Awards will bring together some of television’s biggest stars on Monday night (September 14) to celebrate the best shows and performances of the past year.

Mariska Hargitay is hosting this year’s ceremony, while stars including Zendaya, Matthew McConaughey, Jamie Lee Curtis, Florence Pugh, Sofia Vergara and more are set to take the stage as presenters.

What Time Do the 2026 Emmys Start?

The 2026 Emmy Awards begin at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on Monday, September 14.

The ceremony will air live coast-to-coast from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

What Channel Are the 2026 Emmys On?

The Emmys will air live on NBC.

If you have access to NBC through a cable or satellite provider, you can watch the ceremony on your local NBC station beginning at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.

How Can You Stream the 2026 Emmys?

The ceremony will also stream live on Peacock at the same time as the NBC broadcast.

The show will additionally be available to watch on demand on Peacock after the live broadcast.

You can also watch NBC through live TV streaming services that carry the network in your area, including YouTube TV, DIRECTV and Fubo.

How Can You Watch the 2026 Emmys for Free?

There are a few options for watching the Emmys without paying for a traditional cable subscription.

Because the ceremony is airing on NBC, viewers who can receive their local NBC station with an over-the-air TV antenna can watch the broadcast for free.

For cord-cutters, YouTube TV is currently offering a free trial to eligible new subscribers and includes NBC in its main plan. DIRECTV is also offering eligible new customers a five-day free trial, while Fubo currently advertises a free trial and carries NBC in participating markets.

Availability of local NBC stations varies by location, so make sure the service carries NBC in your area before signing up.

Peacock does not currently offer a standard free option for watching the Emmys, so you’ll need a paid Peacock subscription if you choose to stream the ceremony directly through the service.

Who Is Hosting the 2026 Emmys?

Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay is hosting this year’s ceremony, marking her first time hosting the Emmy Awards.

She’ll be joined throughout the night by a star-studded lineup of presenters.

Who Are the Biggest 2026 Emmy Nominees?

The Pitt heads into the ceremony with 25 nominations, the most of any show this year, while Hacks earned 24 nominations for its final season.

Other heavily nominated shows include Widow’s Bay with 19 nominations and Pluribus with 18.

The ceremony will also feature special reunions celebrating the 30th anniversary of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the 50th anniversary of Charlie’s Angels.
