Dethroned Miss North Carolina USA Brittany Boltinhouse Speaks Out, Organizers Respond | Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Brittany Boltinhouse is speaking out after her title of Miss North Carolina USA was stripped from her on August 5.

The Miss USA Organization said the decision was made “jointly with the titleholder, her state directors and the organization following what it described as conduct that violated its standards,” per People.

Now, in a new interview with Carolina Journal editor-in-chief Donna King, Brittany is saying she thinks the decision was made because of her political views, namely her being a “conservative Christian woman.”

“I’m proud of my standards. I’m a proud conservative woman, but a Christian woman. I’m a God-fearing woman,” she said.

Brittany added that she signed an agreement that included a “confidentiality clause” and was “not allowed to speak about things” that resulted in her losing her crown.

“I’m very much at peace and I’m actually glad it happened to me and not some other young lady that, you know, maybe just probably wouldn’t make it through what I’m going through right now,” Brittany continued. “The scrutiny, my family behind it as well. But I will say that I’m very much at peace and I see the light at the end of the tunnel and I know who I am and I know what I can become.”

Toward the end of the interview, she was asked about whether she thought supporting President Donald Trump could be seen as “disqualifying” by the pageant system.

“I don’t know. I don’t know. All I can say from the information that I have today and what I believe and I think is honestly I don’t know. I wasn’t really given anything,” she responded, before adding, “All I can say is that I think and believe that my title was ripped from me because of my beliefs.”

Brittany received the Miss North Carolina USA crown on June 28 and was dethroned just over a month later.

According to our previous reporting, Brittany allegedly wrote posts under an alias on social media that included racial slurs.

It was announced that Myla Hadley will take the title of Miss North Carolina USA 2026 instead.

The 2026 Miss USA final competition is scheduled for Thursday, August 27 at 8 p.m. ET, broadcasting live on The CW from the Ziff Ballet Opera House at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami, Fla.

Last year, Miss USA 2024 bowed out of the 2025 pageant at the last moment.
