Courtney Love Reveals She 'Almost Died' as She Details Secret Health Battle | Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Courtney Love is opening up about a terrifying health battle that nearly killed her.

In a new Instagram video uploaded on Friday (August 14), the 62-year-old rocker revealed said her body “just exploded” while in the UK back in 2019.

“I went to England in 2019 and when I went there, you know, my body just exploded,” Courtney recalled. “It just exploded. And I was in hospitals a lot. I almost died, I lost all my hair. I was about 100 pounds. And they told me I was gonna die, and I didn’t believe them.”

While Courtney didn’t specify what medical condition she battled, she did attribute her reluctance to listen to her doctors to an attitude she’s had since childhood.

“I used to like, pattern-interrupt the adults, and they’d tell me ‘red.’ They’d say ‘red was blue,’ and then I’d see blue, but blue was blue,” Courtney said. “So now that I gaslight myself that maybe, maybe they were right and red was blue, and then I would see purple, and my head would explode.

“Like f—king cope with that sh—t, right?” she continued. “I think some of you can relate to that. And then, anyway, I never really lost my ability to see that f—king that ‘red was red,’ despite them telling me that ‘red was blue.’”

“And so when they said you’re gonna die, I just didn’t believe them,” she added.

The Hole frontwoman went on to say that she “somehow” got better.

“I’m healthy, which is amazing,” Courtney said, later insisting, “I will be back, I wasn’t public about being sick. I don’t want to be public about being sick. You know, I’m fine now.”

Back in 2022, Courtney claimed that Brad Pitt had her fired from Fight Club.
