Anne Hathaway is opening up about Andy Sachs’ fashion in The Devil Wears Prada 2!

The 43-year-old actress sits down in this exclusive first look clip at a new bonus feature on the movie’s upcoming digital and Blu-ray release.

In the clip from the featurette “Inside the Fashion Closet,” Anne shares how they came up with a backstory of the past 20 years on Andy’s fashion and how some of her looks came to be.

“Andy has been chasing down stories for the better part of 20 years, and she would maybe go to places you wouldn’t expect. And the thing about a lot of places in the world is they have really cool consignment shops,” Anne says. “So the story that we came up with was that Andy has been thrifting high-end fashion for 20 years in unexpected locations.”

This backstory is also explained a bit in the movie, when Andy talks to Nigel after returning to runway, telling him she thrifted something in Provo for $11. “Learned a thing or two since the last time I was here,” she says.

Anne continues to explain how Andy’s style has changed over the years.

“The story of her closet becomes what she does with this new availability of options to her,” Anne says, while lead costume designer Molly Rogers adds, “She didn’t want her clothes to be sad. As a reporter, you’re not sitting on the front row of fashion shows.”

“It had to be just the right amount of a men’s shirt with a high-waisted pant. You know, it just had a vibe to it that you can roll up the sleeves and work late at Runway,” Molly continued.
