Why Taissa Farmiga Isn't Returning for American Horror Story's Star-Studded 13th Season | Just Jared

The latest season of American Horror Story is debuting today, and season 13 is seeing a ton of fan favorites return to the beloved franchise.

The cast includes Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts and many more returning stars from past seasons.

However, one fan fave name you won’t see in the cast this season…Taissa Farmiga. She appeared in seasons 1, 3, 6, and 8 of the FX series.

Now, Ryan Murphy is explaining why she is not appearing.

Ryan told People. “I’ll always love her, but sometimes it’s just the story and the progression of the story, if that makes any sense. There’s a lot of characters or a lot of things that I tried. Actor availability is always an issue. Sometimes the character just doesn’t work in the story, you know?”

“But once you’re on the show, you’re always on the show. We’re working on the next season and trying to figure that out. So it’s interesting how it keeps going on and on,” he added.

Other notable names not appearing include Denis O’Hare and Lily Rabe.
