‘Day Drinker’ Trailer: Johnny Depp Continues His Hollywood Return in New Movie – Watch Now!

The first teaser trailer for Johnny Depp‘s new movie has been released!

Lionsgate has debuted the first look at the upcoming movie Day Drinker, starring the 63-year-old Oscar-nominated actor, Penelope Cruz, and Madelyn Cline.

Here’s the logline: “In Day Drinker, a private-yacht bartender (Cline) encounters a mysterious, onboard guest (Depp). They soon find themselves entangled with a criminal figure (Cruz) and connected in ways no one saw coming.”

Johnny was once one of the biggest and most bankable stars in Hollywood, but following his defamation lawsuits with ex-wife Amber Heard, the actor found himself on the outs with most major studios. He was fired from Warner Bros.’s Fantastic Beasts franchise in 2020. In recent years, however, he has still appeared in movies from smaller studios.

Lionsgate was the first major studio to hire Johnny since the court case. After his casting in Day Drinker, Universal Pictures then hired Johnny to play the iconic Charles Dickens character Ebenezer Scrooge in Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol, which is scheduled to hit theaters on November 13, 2026. Directed by Marc Webb and written by Zach Dean, Day Drinker hits theaters on March 26, 2027.
