Dolly Parton's Sister Stella Reveals the Last Thing the Singer Asked Her For Before Her Death | Just Jared

Stella Parton is sharing some insight into Dolly Parton‘s final moments.
During a Thursday (September 10) appearance on CBS Mornings with Gayle King, Stella, 77, shared that her sister was “at peace” when she passed away late August at the age of 80, and that her final request was “for prayer.”
“I know she was at peace,” Stella said. “I could always tell by looking at her face, even if I hadn’t seen her in months.”
She continued, “On camera, I could tell if she was hurt, angry, happy or sad or felt bad. I could see it on her. She was my sister. You know, we were very close as a family. She knew where she was going. She wasn’t going anywhere bad, she was going to be with Momma and Daddy.”
At the end, Stella says the “9 to 5” singer was “definitely prepared.”
Stella says Dolly asked for prayer during their final conversation
Stella also shared during the interview that during their last conversation, Dolly simply wanted her sister to pray.
“The last thing Dolly asked me for was prayer,” she shared. “Her optimism is what I’m gonna miss the most. She was the most optimistic person I ever met. I’m gonna miss that.”
She also said she would remember her sister as “sweet, kind, loving, brilliant” and “so talented.”
“Her creativity had no bounds. She could dream bigger than anybody,” Stella added.
In the same interview, Stella, who is also a country singer in her own right, also shared insight into Dolly‘s decision to keep her cancer battle private.
