Mariska Hargitay Jokes About Wardrobe Malfunction While Rolling Out Emmy Awards Red Carpet

Mariska Hargitay is hosting the Emmys next week, but first she is helping prepare the red carpet!

The Emmy-winning actress wore a shiny suit while attending the 2026 Emmy Awards Press Preview event on Thursday (September 10) at L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

Mariska joined the producing team of the Emmys to roll out the red carpet.

Mariska Hargitay had a wardrobe malfunction during the event

USA Today reports that Mariska put a pause to the rollout and called out, “Hold up, wardrobe malfunction! Better now than at the Emmys.”

Mariska wore a LaQuan Smith skirt suit for the event. It’s unclear what happened during the malfunction.

“I started going into full-on Knicks-mode, kicking the carpet. I was a superhero,” Mariska explained of the moment, which she thinks was good luck. She added, “Damn straight it is.”

Mariska Hargitay is hosting the Emmys and already won two awards this year

Mariska will host the Primetime Emmys on Monday night, September 14 on NBC.

During the Creative Arts Emmy Awards last weekend, Mariska was up for two awards that night, for her documentary, My Mom Jayne, and she won both!

Mariska picked up the awards for Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction program and Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special, the latter of which she won as a producer.
