Cristiano Ronaldo is “probably” heading towards retiring from soccer after this year.

The 41-year-old football legend, currently playing for Al-Nassr and the Portugal national team, spoke out in an interview about his wedding to Georgina Rodriguez.

During the discussion with Vogue, he also addressed his future with the sport, saying that this is “probably my last year of football.”

“This is probably my last year of football, and I want to leave a spectacular legacy. I have my future all mapped out. I have so many things to keep me busy that to tell you just one thing is hard. Because football could leave a big hole, you have to fill your time in various ways, not just one. And also have more fun, travel more, watch and play padel, which I really like, and continue to enjoy what I’ve earned—what we’ve earned. Because after all it’s been 25 years with a lot of sacrifice.”

Cristiano Ronaldo has played soccer for over three decades: hje began playing as a child around age seven for the local team Andorinha in 1992, and he started his professional career 24 years ago when he debuted for Sporting CP on August 14, 2002. He has been playing professional senior soccer for 25 seasons.

He holds dozens of major soccer and global records, including multiple official Guinness World Records.
