Who Is Abby Phillip’s Husband? The Pregnant CNN Anchor Is Married with 1 Child!

Abby Phillip is one of CNN’s best anchors, and many consistently wonder about her personal life while watching her on the network.

If you are not aware, the 37-year-old journalist has become one of CNN’s leading political minds, covering major elections, presidential administrations, and breaking national stories. After serving as a White House correspondent and anchor, she took the helm of CNN NewsNight, where she leads in-depth discussions and debates on politics and current events with a rotating group of commentators each weeknight.

Abby has been married to her husband, Marcus Richardson, since 2018!

They met at a friend’s party in 2011, but their first conversation was cut short!

However, they met years before in 2011, when a chance interaction at a friend’s party did not go as planned.

He told Martha Stewart, “We were creating an awesome connection, when suddenly another woman interrupted. I was like, ‘Whoa, her friend is trying to save her from me,’ and we went our separate ways.”

The next month, that same friend invited them to another party, and they reconnected. They started dating one week later!

He proposed in 2016 and they wed on May 26, 2018, at Anderson House in Washington D.C.

He recalled of their wedding day, “My most memorable moment was watching Abby descend the staircase with her parents. It was a magical moment. So often you see brides walk down the aisle, so seeing her come down these large, ornate stairs in her gorgeous dress made the moment very real and very special.”

Marcus is a cybersecurity professional.

They share one daughter, Naomi, who will be five years old in August.

Additionally, Abby is currently pregnant with their second child.

“We are overjoyed to be expanding our family!” she confirmed to People. “Naomi is already preparing to be an excellent big sister to the little boy who will join us later this year.”

The couple conceived with the help of IVF for baby no. 2

“Our journey to a second child looked a little different from our first. Like so many families, we were able to conceive with the help of IVF. In this moment, I’m both grateful that we were successful in God’s perfect timing and I’m also holding hope in my heart for all the families who are still waiting in their journey,” Abby said. “The process was challenging to manage, both emotionally and physically, but I’m thrilled to say we arrived at a beautiful place.”
