Jonathan Bennett just announced his return to the soap opera world with a role on General Hospital, which has Hallmark Channel fans wondering what his future with the network looks like.
The actor is one of Hallmark’s most beloved regulars, becoming a groundbreaking LGBTQ+ figure for the network with movies airing every Christmas season and beyond. He’s also the host and executive producer of the reality competition series, Finding Mr. Christmas, which searches for the next Hallmark star each year.
Jonathan will be joining General Hospital in May 2026 in the role of Joe Fitzpatrick.

Hallmark Channel is actually very supportive of Jonathan‘s casting on General Hospital and they confirmed that he’s still working with the network.
“A big woo hoo for Jonathan Bennett,” the Hallmark Channel PR page wrote on Instagram Stories after the news was announced.
They added, “And yes, he’ll still do lots with us at Hallmark Channel!!”
Phew! We can’t wait to see more of him on the network this year.
