Instagram has introduced a new feature to allow users to add multiple captions to carousel posts, giving people the chance to write something different for every picture in a slideshow post.

The new feature will promote storytelling on the app, allowing users to give context to every photo or video in a carousel and helping viewers follow along easier.

How to user Instagram’s new “multiple captions” feature

“A new caption with every swipe. You can now add a caption for each photo or video in your post,” a notification reads on the app. See above!

If you are selecting multiple photos or videos to go into one carousel post on your Instagram feed, you’ll be given the toggle option to enable multiple captions.

By switching to the “multiple captions” option, you will be given the option to add a different caption for each photo or video within your post.

A “secret friends only” option went viral on Instagram earlier this year, but only lasted for a limited time for one celebrity to use.
