The hit Apple TV spy series, which stars Gary Oldman, has been renewed for another season, just one day before Season 6 premieres on the streaming service, Deadline reports.
The renewal also comes after Slow Horses picked up another Emmy Award over the weekend, with Saul Metzstein winning Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series.
When Does Season 8 Begin Filming?
Season 8 is expected to begin production soon and will be based on Clown Town, the ninth book in author Mick Herron‘s Slough House series.
What Is Slow Horses Season 8 About?
According to the official logline, the new season will find Jackson Lamb, played by Gary, and Diana Taverner, played by Kristin Scott Thomas, facing off in their “most explosive confrontation yet.”
After an attempt to blackmail the Park goes wrong, Diana goes on the offensive and Jackson must uncover one of MI5’s darkest secrets.
“Slow Horses continues to charm audiences all around the world and I’m delighted that Jackson Lamb and his gang of lovable misfits will be back for an eighth season. Their acerbic take on the high-octane world of espionage is completely unique,” Apple TV’s Jay Hunt said in a statement.
Ben Vanstone will adapt and executive produce Season 8, while Adam Randall is returning to direct.
Fans already knew that Slow Horses would be returning for Season 7, which is based on Mick‘s novel Bad Actors.
When Does Slow Horses Season 6 Premiere?
In the meantime, Season 6 premieres Wednesday (September 16) on Apple TV.
