If your idea of a good weekend involves Black culture, nostalgia, drama, sports or a little bit of spooky season chaos, this weekend’s list of movies and shows is perfect for you. According to The Wrap, Netflix leads with the biggest premieres of the weekend.
Decider reports that the highly anticipated titles include the dramatic thriller UNABOMBER, A Different World reboot and the new season of The Great British Baking Show. Another thrilling new drop is Hulu’s American Horror Story, bringing back all of the previous themes and cast members.

Hillman is back, y’all. Netflix has revived A Different World nearly four decades after the original sitcom premiered, and this time the story follows Dwayne and Whitley Wayne’s daughter as she begins her freshman year at Hillman College. Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison return, giving longtime fans a familiar connection while introducing a new generation to the HBCU-inspired world. All 10 episodes of Season 1 are streaming now.
American Horror Story: 13| Hulu
Ryan Murphy said spooky season was not going anywhere. American Horror Story is back for its 13th season with a stacked lineup that includes Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts and Kathy Bates. The first three episodes dropped Thursday, so there is already plenty of chaos waiting for you.

Sports fans, this one is for you. The new documentary follows the life and career of NFL wide receiver DeSean Jackson. If you have ever watched him turn a football field into his personal racetrack, this is your chance to hear more about the man behind the highlights.

Need something creepy? Backrooms has arrived on HBO Max. Chiwetel Ejiofor stars in the surreal thriller about a furniture store owner who becomes trapped in a seemingly endless maze hidden beneath his store. Yeah, we are officially entering the “why did you go down there?” portion of the weekend.
The Love Hypothesis| Prime Video
For anybody who would rather watch two attractive people pretend they are not falling in love, The Love Hypothesis is streaming now. Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman star in this romantic comedy about a professor and PhD student who enter a fake relationship that gets complicated, because of course it does.
So whether you want nostalgia, horror, sports or romance, your weekend viewing schedule is looking pretty full.
