Mark Consuelos Reveals He's Undergoing 'Major' Surgery After Putting Procedure Off for a Year | Just Jared

Mark Consuelos is opening up about his health.
During the Friday (September 25) episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the 55-year-old co-host revealed that he was heading into surgery immediately after the show.
Mark will be having “major” surgery on his toe after putting the procedure off for nearly a year.
“Today’s the day,” Mark said at the top of the episode. “I’ve been putting off this toe surgery for about a year.”
Kelly Ripa confirmed that she would be accompanying her husband to the procedure, but confessed her motives weren’t entirely selfless.
“I’m not resisting the opportunity to video capture you coming out of your propofol haze,” she joked.
“That’s right. People say some funny, funny things,” Mark added of intravenous anesthetic, as Kelly, 55, reminded him, “I have you on video from your last foot surgery!”
The Riverdale actor went on to say that he was already feeling “a little loopy” ahead of the procedure because he hadn’t eaten since the previous day, which Kelly said she was confused about.
“I’ve never heard of fasting for 24 hours before a surgery,” she said.
“It’s dumb. I just want to eat!” Mark joked. “I can be convinced to eat at any moment!”
The couple, who have been married since 1996, then turned their attention to Mark‘s recovery as he listed off some of the requests he has for Kelly post-surgery, including walking their dog and being “present.”
“Put your phone down, take your AirPods out of your ears,” Mark told Kelly, who had her own list of activities for Mark as he recovers, suggesting he read, journal, knit, or play games.
“I can teach you to knit, if you want!” she offered.
“Yeah! I’m going to bedazzle my boot,” Mark joked.
They then shared more details about the procedure MarK will be having.
He’s having a toe surgery. Basically, he’s having a pedicure,” Kelly teased.
“No, this is a major surgery,” Mark interjected. “It’s like a C-section for your toe.”
Mark‘s surgery comes weeks after Kelly also underwent a painful procedure.
