'Magic School Bus' Live-Action Movie Back in Development with Elizabeth Banks Playing Ms. Frizzle - Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Elizabeth Banks was previously announced to be playing Ms. Frizzle in a live-action The Magic School Bus movie back in 2020, but nothing ever happened with the project.
Now, six years later, the movie is back in development!
Elizabeth will remain on the project, starring as the teacher Ms. Frizzle, and she’s also producing the movie alongside Legendary Entertainment and publisher Scholastic. Legendary is the production company behind the Dune movies and A Minecraft Movie.
Filmmaker Rob Letterman has signed to write and direct the movie, according to Variety. He is best known for directing 2004’s Shark Tale, 2009’s Monsters vs. Aliens, 2015’s Goosebumps, and 2019’s Detective Pikachu.
The original television show featured Lily Tomlin as Ms. Frizzle and SNL star Kate McKinnon voiced the character in the Netflix TV sequel.
Variety reports the series “follows the eccentric teacher Ms. Frizzle and her class as they go on field trips in their yellow school bus that magically transforms into everything from a plane and submarine to a spaceship and surfboard to help them navigate terrain like outer space and the human body.”
No plot details for the movie have been revealed yet.
Elizabeth recently was announced to star in an upcoming Apple TV comedy series.
