LL Cool J and Scott Caan are teaming up for a new chapter of NCIS.

The 58-year-old actor and rapper is reprising his role of Special Agent Sam Hanna from NCIS: Los Angeles, while Scott is playing his “roguish agent” partner Nick Schaeffer.

On Tuesday (August 18), People debuted the exclusive first look at the trailer for the spinoff series that will premiere this October on CBS.

Jennifer Beals, Shane Harper, Jacqueline Byers, and Devin Druid also star.

The teaser shows Hanna and Schaeffer meeting for the first time, with a sneak peek at their dynamic.

People also shared the logline for the series premiere, which sees Hanna returning to New York after being away for “years of special assignments and covert ops.”

“When Sam’s friend and Navy reservist Jack Halloway is found dead, he requests permission from Assistant Special Agent-in-Charge Robyn Wells (Beals) to investigate his friend’s death,” it reads.

“Robyn pairs Sam with roguish agent Nick Schaeffer (Caan), who introduces him to the rest of the team: clean-cut Wyatt Sellers (Harper), bright-eyed Addy Ross (Byers) and hacker-turned-computer guy Sean Sullivan (Druid). As the team investigates Jack’s death, they work together to gather key information that can help find the culprits.”
